The Need for Championing Accountability

Unveiling the Fate of Traded-In Drones

Dear Supporters,

Our ongoing commitment to transparency and advocacy for responsible drone use drives us to shed light on a matter of paramount importance. As we continue our mission to equip public safety agencies with cutting-edge drone technology, we've encountered a concerning trend that warrants your attention.

Unveiling the Fate of Traded-In Drones

In our pursuit to enhance community safety and support STEM education, we've discovered disconcerting practices among certain USA drone manufacturers. While offering "trade-in programs" to boost sales, some manufacturers are choosing to scrap these traded-in drones, neglecting their potential to save lives and exacerbating electronic waste concerns.

Prioritizing Accountability and Safety

The situation has brought into focus the need for transparency from manufacturers. We urge all public safety departments to inquire about the destiny of trade-in drones before making any purchases. It's essential for companies to prioritize giving back and supporting our public safety initiatives, ensuring underfunded departments receive life-saving drone technology.

A Call for Responsibility

At NPS-DDP, we remain steadfast in advocating for responsible drone use in public safety agencies nationwide. We are dedicated to addressing this matter in our newsletters and social media posts until we receive meaningful feedback from manufacturers and vendors regarding their commitment to public safety and STEM education.

Join Us in Building a Brighter Future

Together, we can champion accountability, ensuring that industry practices align with the greater good. Your unwavering support empowers us to drive positive change in public safety and education. Let's spread our message, advocate for sensible resource use, and build a secure and responsible future for all.

Thank you for standing with us in our mission to make a lasting impact. Together, we can hold companies accountable and prioritize the safety of our communities.

Swansea Fire Department,
Swansea, IL.
"...Our project idea entails obtaining a high-quality drone, equipped with advanced features such as thermal imaging, high-resolution cameras, GPS tracking, & real-time communication systems. By utilizing this technology, we aim to reduce response times, increase situational awareness, & improve overall operational efficiency for search and rescue missions, hazardous materials incidents, & structural fire responses..."

Macon County, Missouri Sheriff's Office, Macon, MO.

"...We are requesting a drone due to the number of missing people we have had in the recent history. Our last missing person spent 22 hours in the woods lost and was located by a drone. Without the drone, it wouldn't have been possible to locate the individual until it would have been too late..."

Smithville - Dekalb County Rescue Squad, Smithville, TN.

"...Having the drone equipment would be a blessing to our rescue squad due to the rough terrain. Having to outsource to agencies across the state should an incident arise can be taxing for other agencies. We would be grateful to get a thermal capable drone to help our team conducting operations..."

Killen Fire Department, Killen, AL.

"...With this grant, we would immediately be able to launch aerial assets from the moment a call is received to locate and size up watercraft accidents and incidents. This would greatly enhance our efforts to get eyes on the scene before we can launch our rescue boats to locate the victims. This could mean life or death for the victims since the boat may be completely submerged before our rescue efforts can locate the scene..."

Union Missouri Police Department, Union, MO.

"...a drone would increase officer safety by allowing officers to conduct a pre-tactical deployment reconnaissance of dangerous situations by collecting valuable information in regards to the lay out of the area of operations. Additionally, it increases officer safety by allowing patrol-led deployments to provide situational awareness in locating wanted subjects that flee from officers by giving officers a “eye in the sky” approach to tracking and locating subjects..."

Peachtree City Firefighters Foundation, Peachtree City, GA.

"...We are requesting a drone on behalf of the fire department to aid and assist with special events such as triathlons, dragon boat race, running events, and multiple other events that are held in the community. The drone would also assist in firefighting efforts large buildings, apartments and stores such as Walmart. The drone would also be utilized in our planning process for firefighting operations such as pre-plans..."

Stephens County Search and Rescue,

Eastanollee, GA.

"...We have a variety of services, including a dive team, but "boots on the ground" searches are what we are called out to most. Having a drone would give us the opportunity to search an area we can't get to easily, as well as check areas for safety before deploying our teams. Currently, we don't have a drone and have to rely on other county departments or out-of-county mutual aid to utilize one at an event. If we had one, we could cut down on response time by using it as needed to search an area..."

NPS-DDP.ORG Partners With Sharing The Credit

Did you know that your business merchant fees from credit card charges can help save lives? You can legally divert a portion of your merchant fees to support our foundation.

"Food for Thought for businesses within your jurisdiction"

I want you to give through your business without ever writing a check. I want your business to give NOT off its bottom line. I want you to give SUSTAINABLY. Forever. I want it not to hurt when you give, but to be painless and feel GREAT!

How?

We say you can Stop writing checks to Charities... Let Visa/MC do it. You see, at the end of the month when Visa/MC takes their pound of flesh from your business, one of the fees they take out goes back into the system, normally a bank... but can go to a charity, instead.

See if this makes sense...

- You must take plastic to be in business
- If you take plastic as payment, Visa/MC charges you at the end of the month
- Do you want your donations off your bottom line or Visa/MC's???

Schedule a convenient call with our partners at Sharing the Credit, and they'll show you how to give forever without any extra money coming out of you or your business. You have no choice but to pay Visa/MC, so let's redirect one of those fees to something you love, instead!
